Project: Denton County Courts Building
Client: Denton County
Architect: Eikon Consultant Group, LLC
Note: all work completed at night and customized woodwork throughout
The 4th Floor Finish Out of the Denton County Courts Building was a complete remodel of the existing space. The construction of this project was scheduled and completed at night in order for the ongoing trials in the adjacent courtrooms to continue uninterrupted. To gain access, we removed the eastside corridor storefront and installed a 4-story exterior elevator. Construction consisted of the demolition of the existing rooms, building a new courtroom, vestibule, jury room, interview rooms, conference rooms, electrical room, judge’s office and chamber, court clerk office and additional county official offices. Special detail was paid to the construction of all exposed casework, millwork, wood paneling, molding and trim in order to maintain the custom quality and appearance that the owner was expecting. The use of bulletproof panels were incorporated in the construction of the Judges bench and the jury box. Additional work included all new MEP, audio-visual and the re-routing of the fire alarm and sprinkler system.
